Alb drilling structure and philosophies are based on requirements customer services, an entrepreneurial spirit and innovation. We are always trying to push our operations to the next level.
Alb drilling offers full horizontal and directional drilling services. In addition, there are included well planning, job coordination (MWD tools, performance drilling motors, personnel) and daily updates. Our in-house servicing, optimization departments and HSE add values for our clients because we ensure quality control and always try to find ways to drill faster and efficiently.
To fulfill the objectives Alb drilling owns the following capability:

- Positive displacement mud motors
- In-house tool servicing
- Competency based field training program
- The qualified and experienced personnel
- Its own policy for HSE
Albdrilling has already drilled 12 new production horizontal wells and 1 water injection horizontal well in the limestone Visoka Oilfield in Albania. Out of 12 production horizontals, 2 of them and the water horizontal injection well were drilled using AlbDrilling’s directional tools and personnel.
On well G-158 we have also performed a successful Side Track in limestone formation at an Inclination of 8.0 degree.
Tools Used:
- MWD Tools – Positive pulse Newsco MWD tools with gamma.
- 6 ½” DUPM mud motors for Top Hole and Build Section all in one run with 216 mm PDC bit.
- 4 ¾” DUPM mud motors for Lateral Section in limestone formation with 156 mm PDC bit
- TK Depth encoder system
- DRILLLING MOTORS
All motors leaving AlbDrilling’s service facilities are built and fit based on information from field experience, historical well data and anticipated conditions (temperature/pressure/drilling fluid). AlbDrilling up to now worked with 2 main suppliers DUPM China and NOV Romania and utilize many different cores, elastomers and fitments to get the best performance.
All mud motors will be repaired and service in AlbDrilling’s workshop in Fier, Albania.
AlbDrilling’s motor workshop is located in Belina, Fier, Albania, which will be suitable for turning tools around. Service required for the mud motors will be in house. The break out unit has the following specification.
1-Drilling Rigs capable to drill vertical and horizontal wells up to 4000 m MD.
2-Directional Drilling Services and maintenance of MWD, Mud motors, Nonmagnetic Bottom Hole Assembly etc

Albdrilling has a dedicated and experienced well planner committed to provide plans and revisions within 24 hour time, or quicker, if required. The morning reports will be uploaded and will be reviewed by well planner in daily basis in order to update the well under drilling.
- Management will monitor health, safety, and environmental performance to ensure that our objectives are achieved. Zero will ALWAYS be the expectation – zero incidents, injuries, illnesses and zero damage to property, equipment and the environment. Should we fall short of this expectation, we’ll investigate to understand the cause and use that knowledge to prevent a future occurrence.
